A key light is the main light on a subject, the one that shapes how they're seen. That's exactly what I want every photo to do for you: put you front and centre, seen the way you deserve to be.

Before photography, I spent 15 years working as a designer. I studied Visual Communication at UTS, then spent over a decade at GradConnection as a graphic designer, through its acquisition by SEEK, where I transitioned into UX design. Most recently, working in product design at SEEK, understanding what makes someone trustworthy at a glance — a button, a screen, a first impression — was part of the daily job. Good design earns trust before anyone reads a word of copy. A good portrait does the same thing.

That thinking carries into every headshot and brand photo I take. It's never just about whether a photo looks good — it's about whether it does its job the moment someone sees it.

Along the way, I've photographed everything from weddings to corporate events, but portraits are where that design thinking really pays off. A headshot only gets one shot to make an impression, and there's no room for a second draft.
